With apologies to Alice Cooper, school is never out forever. I did graduate last Sunday from Library School, but that just means its time to find a job. I have a second interview with the LA library system, and there are some engineering academic library positions I'm applying to, but its all mine to screw up (as usual).
I have one last, elective class left. It's only one credit and it's for three days next week. Then the summer is a flurry of job-hunting activity. Or sleeping late. Whatever. It's been a long time since I had free time, and I want to enjoy it as much as possible before going back to a fulltime job. MOre later...

What I did in 2006
1. Saw two Rollins Band/X shows
2. Finished first year of Library School and started second. Straight As in fall semester, baby!
3. Did summer internship in Bismarck, ND Historical Society Photo Archives
4. Worked three jobs (Biology Library, Conservation Lab (rare book repair), and Primate Center Archives) concurrently. What was I thinking??
5. Kept car alive one more year
6. Kept cat alive one more year
7. Drank too much coffee
8. Participated in a dozen bakesales and craft shows
9. Created three window displays for Library School
10. Participated in Badger Knitting Club
11. Documented Madison Zine Fest (video, stills, interviews)
12. Designed, with Heather, a film festival for 2007 Archives Week
13. Went to weird-ass Library Prom: no, they were NOT being ironic. Gah!!!
14. Did a poster presentation on “Search and Preserve: archiving Hardcore” at the annual Society of American Archivists meeting in DC in early August. Did not die of heat exhaustion.
15. Visited Lawrence Welk Homestead in ND. It’s actually pretty cool, despite what you might have initially thought
16. Discovered there is only one VW repair shop in ND, and its not in Bismarck 8(
17. Volunteered at the 24 Hours of Music festival in Minneapolis
18. Brother almost completely recovered from injuries received in Iraq, now his son is over there. He got caught in razor wire, but is fine.
19. Said goodbye to Pauline Ringelstetter, friends’ Mom and feisty 80-ish polka-dancer
20. Went to Wisconsin Dells with some friends from South Korea. Our Duck got stuck! Some of you will know what that means, and laugh uproariously. There is an actual Stuck Duck Recovery Duck! I’ve got photos…
